1. Overview
Recording Software is a Chrome extension that allows users to record a browser tab, an application window, or an entire screen, with optional microphone and computer audio selected by the user.
2. Information accessed by the extension
When you start a recording, the extension may access only the content and audio sources that you explicitly select through Chrome's permission interface, including:
- the selected browser tab, application window, or screen;
- microphone audio, when you enable microphone capture;
- computer or tab audio, when supported and selected;
- basic extension settings needed to remember your selected preferences.
The extension does not access screen or audio content until you actively start a recording and grant the relevant browser permission.
3. How recording data is used
Screen and audio data are used only to provide the recording functionality requested by the user. The extension creates the recording so that it can be reviewed, saved, or shared by the user.
4. Accounts and identity
The extension does not require you to create an account or provide your name, postal address, or payment information in order to use its core recording features.
5. Website and technical data
When you visit the Recording Software website, the hosting provider may automatically process standard technical information such as an IP address, browser type, device type, requested page, and access time for security, reliability, and server operation. The website does not use this information to identify the contents of your recordings.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed only when required by law, necessary to protect the security and integrity of the service, or processed by infrastructure providers strictly to operate the website or distribute the extension.
7. Data retention
Recordings saved or downloaded by you remain under your control and may be deleted using your device's normal file-management tools. Temporary information used during an active recording is retained only as needed to provide the requested functionality.
8. Permissions
The extension requests permissions only to provide its stated recording features. Chrome displays permission prompts when access to a screen, window, tab, microphone, or audio source is required. You may decline a permission, stop a recording, disable the extension, or remove it from Chrome at any time.
9. Third-party services
The extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store and operates within Google Chrome. Your use of those services is also subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.
10. Children's privacy
Recording Software is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect information handled by the extension and website. However, no browser extension, device, network, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the extension, website, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when revisions are published.
